Temu vs PandaBuy

Temu Spreadsheet: What Temu Is Good For, and Why It Can't Fill a PandaBuy Sheet

Checked · the PandaBuy Alternatives desk

Short answer

Temu, owned by PDD Holdings and selling in the US since September 2022, sells cheap, mostly unbranded everyday goods direct to you. It's not a shopping agent and can't buy the Weidian or Taobao listings a PandaBuy sheet held. Its returns are generous on paper, 90 days for most items, but only the first return from each order is free; further returns from the same order cost $7.99 each, per ConsumerAffairs (Sept 2026). Since May 2025, US orders have come from local sellers rather than straight from China. For basics, Temu is easy; for sheet finds, use an agent.

16 finds Temu doesn't carry

Shop listings of the kind PandaBuy sheets held, bought through an agent. Each tile opens repbuysheet.com. 16 finds here, and 10,000+ products in the catalog the tiles open, filterable by brand and size.

Sponsored links. Photo, name and button all open one listing on repbuysheet.com, where the seller's full photo set, the size options and the source shop link live. Dollar and yuan prices are copied from that catalog on the check date and move with the exchange rate.

Verdict: Temu is a shop, PandaBuy was an agent. They don't substitute for each other.

Temu's return rules, and where it ships from

Temu's return rules reward returning everything from an order at once: the first return per order is free, later ones from the same order cost $7.99 each. If two items from one order might go back, decide together and send them in one return. Keep the packaging until you're sure.

Since May 2025, Temu's US orders ship from local sellers, a change made as the US ended duty-free treatment for small Chinese parcels. That speeds delivery and removes import charges for US buyers on those items. In the EU, the per-category €3 duty from July 2026 applies to parcels from outside the EU, which affects Temu orders shipped from China.

Verdict: Bundle returns into one per order. Check where an item ships from before you buy.

When Temu helps a former PandaBuy user

Where Temu genuinely helps a former PandaBuy user is the filler: phone cases, storage, cheap accessories that used to pad out a PandaBuy haul. Buying those on Temu and keeping the agent box for clothing and trainers can lower the agent parcel's weight and category count.

For the finds themselves, convert your old links with the link converter and use an open agent; the budget sheet lists light items that still make sense in an agent parcel.

Verdict: Use Temu for basics, an agent for finds, and keep the agent box focused.

Temu lists and price comparisons

Temu also changed how 'spreadsheet' searches look. Searches for a Temu spreadsheet are usually looking for lists of good Temu items, a different kind of list from a PandaBuy sheet. Temu's own app already ranks and recommends products heavily, so these lists add little beyond curation. If you build one, note the date: Temu's prices and stock move quickly, and a list goes stale within weeks.

Two cautions for former PandaBuy users comparing prices:

  1. Temu's prices often look lower than an agent's because they include delivery and, in the US, now ship from local sellers. Compare the delivered price with an agent's total for the same kind of item, including freight and duty.
  2. Quality varies more than prices suggest. Without QC photos, the return policy is your safety net, and only the first return per order is free.

Where Temu and an agent overlap, generic basics, Temu is usually simpler for one or two items. Where they don't, specific shop finds, there's no Temu equivalent; convert your old links and use an agent from the status board.

Verdict: Compare delivered prices, not sticker prices, and keep Temu for the basics it does well.

Splitting a haul between Temu and an agent

Temu and an agent don't have to compete. A practical split for someone used to PandaBuy:

Where each part of a haul fits
Item typeBetter routeWhy
Phone cases, cables, small home itemsTemuCheap, light, no need for photos
Plain tees, socks, basicsEitherCompare delivered price per item
Shoes and fitted clothingAgentQC photos and measurements before shipping
Items found on a PandaBuy sheetAgentOnly an agent can buy the Weidian or Taobao listing

Our suggestion, based on how each service works; not a price survey.

The logic is that cheap, low-risk items don't need a warehouse inspection, while items where fit or finish matters do. Keeping accessories off the agent order also keeps the box lighter, and weight is what you pay for in freight.

Verdict: Small, cheap, unfussy items through Temu; anything where fit matters through an agent.

Temu questions

Is Temu like PandaBuy?

No. Temu is a PDD Holdings marketplace, trading in the US since September 2022, with its own catalogue of cheap, mostly unbranded goods. PandaBuy was a shopping agent that bought Weidian, Taobao and 1688 listings for you and photographed them before shipping. Searches for 'PandaBuy vs Temu' compare a shop with an agent. Use Temu for basics and an agent for sheet finds.

Can I buy PandaBuy links on Temu?

No. A PandaBuy link points at a Weidian or Taobao listing from an independent shop, and Temu sells only its own catalogue, so the link has nowhere to go. Run it through the link converter, then order the original through an open agent from the status board. If the row is a generic item, search Temu for a similar one instead. Keep specific finds on the agent route.

What is Temu's return policy?

Most items can go back within 90 days. Only the first return from each order is free, though; every further return from that same order costs $7.99, according to ConsumerAffairs in September 2026. If two items from one order might need returning, decide on both together and send them in a single return. Keep the packaging until you're sure an item stays.

Where do Temu's US orders ship from?

Since May 2025, US orders have come from local sellers rather than straight from China. Temu made the change as the US ended duty-free treatment for small Chinese parcels, and it speeds delivery and removes import charges on those items. EU orders can still ship from China and face the €3 per-category duty from July 2026. Check an item's origin before you buy.

Is Temu cheaper than an agent?

For basic unbranded goods it often is, partly because Temu's prices include delivery and US orders now ship from local sellers. An agent's price adds fees, freight and possibly duty, so compare delivered totals rather than sticker prices. Quality varies more than prices suggest, and only the first return per order is free. For specific shop finds there's no Temu equivalent, so use an agent.

Who owns Temu?

Temu belongs to PDD Holdings, the company that also runs Pinduoduo in China. It launched in the US in September 2022 and sells direct to shoppers rather than acting as an agent, so it has no connection to PandaBuy or to Weidian sellers. Its US orders have shipped from local sellers since May 2025. Treat it as a separate marketplace with its own catalogue and rules.

Should I add small accessories to an agent haul or buy them on Temu?

For cheap items you don't need to inspect, such as phone cases, cables and small home goods, Temu usually wins. An agent charges freight by weight, so every accessory in the box raises the bill, and in the EU each extra customs category adds €3. Keep the agent parcel for shoes, fitted clothing and sheet finds, and buy the filler on Temu.

Does Temu send photos of my item before shipping?

No. Temu ships each item straight to you with no warehouse inspection in between, so the parcel is your first look. PandaBuy, by contrast, sent 4 QC photos per item and let you reject problems before international shipping. On Temu the 90-day return window is your safety net instead. For anything where fit or finish matters, use an agent that photographs items first.

What Temu is based on

Put together by the PandaBuy Alternatives desk; every claim was checked against the list below on . The PandaBuy history leans on court records, police-side reporting and Wikipedia; agent fees, storage and review counts come from each agent's own pages or the named trackers. Where sources disagree we print both. A finds tile was only published if its main photo and its link showed the same item.
